Some advertisers have spotted an interesting update to scheduling. Is it a test? Is it a rollout?
Let’s take a look…
How it Works
Within the ad set, click to set an end date. If you have this update, it may read something like this:
“This schedule has been pre-set for 4 days based on similar businesses.”
I’ve only seen this in a test account with no activity, for what it’s worth (so I’m not sure what a “similar business” would be in that case).
If you hover over the tool tip, it explains how they came up with their recommendation.
Similar businesses are based on ad spend, ad goals, industry, region, and more. The typical duration is calculated by arranging similar businesses’ campaign duration from the past 56 days from high to low and finding the range between the 65th and 75th percentiles.
I assume different ad accounts get different suggestions here. I’ve even seen different recommendations from day to day.
Click on the dropdown menu that reads “Custom” and you’ll see some options that allow you to quickly and easily choose to have your ad set run for a set amount of time (14 days, 30 days, and 60 days).
When you select a preset, the date and end time will adjust based on the start date and time.
Is it Permanent?
This is helpful. Instead of calculating in your head what 14 or 30 days would be, Meta does it for you.
It’s not clear if this is part of a test or an official change that is beginning to roll out. It’s subtle, but I would not be surprised to see it pushed out globally.
