There are a bunch of updates rolling out to Meta’s instant forms, and this is one of them. I don’t have it in all of my accounts, so it seems to be rolling out now.
How It Works
When you add a new question, you may see a checkbox for “Optional.”
If it’s checked, people would be able to skip the question when completing your form. It will display as Optional for the person completing it.
From what I can tell, you can make any of the custom questions optional. You can make most contact information optional, but you’ll need to require at least one contact method, like phone number or email address.
How Might You Use It?
This could be potentially useful for helping to flag higher quality leads. Ask more questions, but make many of them optional. You may learn that people who answer specific questions are more qualified than others.
Is this an option you’ll use?
