Meta announced a bunch of new features at Advertising Week 2024. One of them is Image Animation.

How it Works
Image Animation takes an image and uses AI to turn it into a short video with movement.
I now have this, and you might too.
How to Find it
To see if you have this, create a single image ad in Ads Manager. When viewing the advanced preview, filter by Advantage+ Creative enhancements.
The example in this video is pretty great. It was originally a static image of a couple of dogs. The video makes the dogs move. It reminds me of the live photo option, but Meta is using AI to generate this movement.
It’s kind of like the 3D animation enhancement, but it’s much more advanced. It’s not just zooming in and out on the image, it’s making the objects move around in a natural way.
It Could Be Useful!
This really is super interesting and I’m sure it will lead to more engagement. Some of the Advantage+ Creative enhancements have been kind of pointless, but this could actually improve performance.
One issue I’m having is that it seems most of my photos either aren’t eligible or result in an error when attempting to preview this enhancement. Probably just an early bug, but something to watch.
