Do we even need advertisers anymore?
I’ve heard some advertisers joke that with the advancements in automation and machine learning, businesses may be able to run advertising on their own now.
You don’t need to mess around with targeting anymore. Just go broad.
You don’t need to pick the highest-performing placements. Just use all of them.
And with AI, you can easily generate images, videos, and even ad copy.
Well, to a point…
You still need someone to set up the business account and ad account properly. You still need to understand all of the various rules. Do these things wrong, and you can get shut down. That’s not small.
You still need to understand A conversion is counted whenever a website visitor performs an action that fires a standard event, custom event, or custom conversion. Examples of conversions include purchases, leads, content views, add to cart, and registrations. More and know how to set up online and offline events with the API. That’s expertise.
You need to be on top of all of the latest changes and new features. And if you’re relying on AI to generate ad copy, GOOD LUCK. Maybe one day, but not yet.
The truth is that the bar’s been raised. If it’s easier for every advertiser, what makes your ad stand out? Effective copy and creative become more important.
So, sure. Certain barriers are lower than they were before. Which makes standing out that much more difficult.
