Just beginning to tamper w/ FB Ads, Power Editor, etc. I’m focused on growing our audience size at the moment but haven’t had any significant process in bringing in the ‘Likes’. Got any suggestions or can you point me to any content you’ve made that may directly address this?

Facebook Likes are a dying metrics. The only good thing about them is the social proof that they bring if you have many of them. For this purpose you can get the likes very cheap in the 3rd world countries.
If you do FB advertising (in most cases) the best thing is to bring the people simply to your website – because that is where your conversion happens. Again – all this depends on what it is that you are promoting.
But FB Likes are dead because FB organically shows your content to only a 1% or 2% of the people who liked your page. For the rest you need to pay. And if you are paying anyway then why bother? Just go and create an ad, do the targeting and use the reports like written in the article above to optimize results.
Additionally I also like to break down the age and gender in the reports. This is very useful. After I see the metrics I adjust my targeting in the ads and get a better click price and more conversions. If I see that a specific group (let’s say Female 25 to 35 years old) has better performance then I go and create a separate campaign personalised for that group.
You can also mix the metrics with – age & gender + time of the day + geo + placement. This gives awesome results. Example of targeting after you get this knowledge:
-> Female 25 to 35 years -> From XY region -> Mobile newsfeed -> Run ads between 3 pm and 8 pm
