Back in February, I excitedly wrote about a program called Facebook Jump Start, an official Facebook promotion that offered advertisers a free $100 advertising coupon.

Or did it?

It was a frustrating find. As a small business owner on a budget, I’m always on the lookout for Facebook ad coupons. So when I stumbled on it, I was excited. Yet… it didn’t work.

It was strange. I got through the entire process. Received a Facebook advertising coupon code and everything. Then I applied that code and was given an error that the promotion was only available to new advertisers.

Yet, there was no word anywhere in the promotion (including the fine print) that this was the case. I wasn’t able to find a single new advertiser who could verify that they could actually redeem the code either.

After several unsuccessful attempts to contact Facebook about what was going on, the promotion disappeared. So that was that.

Until today.

I made my daily rounds to the Facebook Marketing Solutions page and noticed an old friend: Facebook Jump Start.

Yes! It’s here! Now it’s officially available and I can get that $100 Facebook ad coupon! And maybe I can actually redeem it this time.

Or not.

specific group of advertisers $100 Coupon Code from Facebook Jump Start (Or Not?)

You’re killing me, Facebook. No details whatsoever about what “specific group of advertisers” is actually eligible for this promotion. But for whatever reason, that group doesn’t include me.

So tell me: Are you able to get the code? From what “group of advertisers” do you belong that makes you special? I must solve this riddle.

Let me know in the comments below!

I’m not in that group either!

Unable to qualify for the offer too, sent a message to facebook requesting the mystery criteria to qualify. Also urged them to consider a trial period or coupon for all small businesses to use on advertising campaigns to see how beneficial they might be for the advertiser AND for facebook in capturing more ad dollars with repeat business. Hopefully they’ll listen. Maybe a good idea is for more people to contact them and request it. Why not setup a try it before you buy it for potential advertisers? I know if it works for my business, I would be much more likely to spend more.

Good luck, Alyssa, let me know what you find out!

I will say that up until recently, there were always two or three (and sometimes four) concurrent ways to get free advertising from Facebook. I imagine that this is not currently the case right now as they plan for the IPO and push for more revenue. That’s my theory, at least.

same result and I’m brand new!  You have some great info/help/posts; thank you.
Now if only I could find a code that worked for 1st time!

  • jenn

It said I qualified for the 50 dollar coupon, and then gave me instructions how to use it whether I was a current ad user or not, either would work it said….HOWEVER, it gave me no coupon code! how stupid!

  • Lori

after you get to the congrats page after the quiz no coupon shows, BUT if you like that page then it will show up. unfortunately it said the code ran out even though I did this within 15 minutes of receiving the email from facebook to do this. waste of time.
